With the long AAAAA your mouth is wide open. With the AAAAA your mouth is the widest open of all the vowels. You also give this vowel a long breath, a bit like you are sighing. That’s why a doctor or dentist asks you to say AAAAA when they want to look in your mouth.

With the short A, your mouth is not open as wide and you use less breath/air.

For the long EEEE, widen your mouth and open it slightly. You use a lot of air, a long breath.

E
With the E, your mouth is much less wide, but you open your mouth wider. You use much less air, a short breath.

With the IE, your mouth is wide and slightly open. You let out a short breath. Your cheeks are more tense, you use an active mouth.

I
With the I, your mouth is much less wide, but you open your mouth wider. You use much less air, a short breath. Your cheeks are sagging, you use a sagging mouth, your cheeks are not tense.

With the OOOOOO your lips are round and your mouth closes further with the pronunciation, with a long breath.

O
With the O, your lips are round but your mouth does NOT close any further with the pronunciation, with a short breath.

When you say the UUUUU your lips are round, long breath and when you say the UUUU you purse your lips, as if you are going to give a kiss, they move forward.

U
When you have to pronounce U your lips are round, short breath and when you pronounce U you purse your lips, as if you are going to give a kiss, and move them forward a little.
